This September I am riding 275 miles from Boston to New York City with Team Eagle
and Cycle for the Cause, raising money for the LGBT Center supporting HIV/AIDS services!
As a 3rd year rider, I am continually reminded about the importance of making sure that
HIV/AIDS services are available to the community. While I have been blessed with good
health and good fortune, I think back to those I have lost and to those that I know
coping with this disease, this ride seems like the least I can do. When you hear
about the rise in new infections, especially among our youth, riding no longer
seems like an option ... it is my obligation.
Cycle for the Cause raises money for HIV/AIDS services of The LGBT Center. As
many of you know, The Center has a long history of being a very important part of,
not only our community, but also New York City. The Center's mental health,
social services, and youth programs reach out to thousands of people annually.
A little known fact: after 9/11 the City of New York came to The Center to
learn how and to help handle mass bereavement based on their unfortunate expertise
in handling the AIDS crisis.
The Center helps thousands! Now I am asking for your help! I have pledged to raise a minimum of $7,500.
What I am asking is that your donate $50? $100? Even $25? Every donation makes such a big different
in the lives of others.
